Scott McDermott

Scott McDermortt is an American who spent his youth as an ex-pat in the Netherlands. He returned to the States to attend Ithaca College, receiving a bachelor's degree in photography and cinematography, and a minor in art history.

During a prolific 25+ year career as a photographer and director in New York City, McDermott has photographed some of the greatest creative minds of our generation, including Spike Lee, Iced T, Jeff Koons, Adrian Brody, and Sharon Stone, among so many others.

Inspired by his life-long passion for music Scott’s most recent body of work. Rendered at grand scale and in vivid color, the exclusive Backline series captures the iconic machines that revolutionized the music industry forever and made American sound.
